Fastest Racer Competition
Keon Flintroy won the 40-yard dash battle to become Murray State's Fastest Racer winner
In an effort to entice more students to get involved with the athletic program, MSU head coach Chris Hatcher hosted the first ever "Fastest Racer" contest held at the annual Racer's Blue and Gold Bowl last night at Roy Stewart stadium. Three preliminary time trials in the 40-yard dash were held Tuesday with the finalist sprinting for the crown. The winner Keon Flintroy won a textbook scholarship for a semester from University Book & Bean. Flintroy is a sophomore from Louisville, KY. "This book scholarship means a lot to me. I need the books," said Flintroy.
Sarah Mastera, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for C.A. Jones Management said, "We are very excited to work with Coach Hatcher and MSU athletics and appreciate the opportunity to support MSU students by offering a University Book & Bean textbook scholarship."
According to the Murray State News, Hatcher said the event offers a unique opportunity for fans to interact with the athletic program. "This is a great opportunity for the Racer football program to show appreciation for the students and reward the fastest person with a book scholarship," he said.
